Aldo Conterno's family have been producing great wines in the Piedmont region of Italy for over five generations. This Barolo is incredibly rare and deserves it's price. Deep purple in colour the nose shows slight floral aromas with earth, tar and smoke. This follows onto a full bodied palate of smooth tannins with plum, black cherry and caramel notes and a velvety finish which is long and elegant. One for the medium to long term and a must for any Italian wine lover.
