On the nose there is rich fruit cake ingredients; currants, prunes, sultanas, spiced dried fruit, coffee, black cherry, plums.. The list is endless but once you do actually taste it there is a cacophony of earthly delights. Black Cherries, plums, savoury spiced dried fruit, and hints of coffee, chocolate and dark creamy fruits. A brilliant wine that can also be a great rich game or red meat accompaniment but will also carry on until the end of the meal to go with the cheeseboard. Maybe even a cigar !!
