And now for something completely different, this is the dry version of Hungarys normally sweet Furmint that goes to make the illustrious Tokaij dessert wine. On the nose it has all the sweet characters of stewed pears, baked apples, honey and quince while the palate has a delightful dryness and natural acidity with ripe pears and apricot with a gentle spicy clovey character. Brilliant with rich and fatty hungarian delicacies, pat├ęs, foie gras and game, but also a great aperitif.
