Valpolicella Ripasso is made in a similar way to Amarone by refermenting the young wine on the skins of dried out grapes, but for a shorter period than an Amarone. The result isn’t quite as rich or intense as Amarone but the wine still has great depth and a savoury style to it. This wine is a real bargain and is choc full of creamy raisiny black cherry aromas and flavours with a little dark spice and coffee.
