Cullen Wines is a certified biodynamic, carbon neutral and naturally powered estate, with their philosophy summed up in three simple words; ‘Quality, Integrity and Sustainability’. It is one of the oldest and most awarded family wineries in Wilyabrup, in Western Australia’s famous Margaret River region. First established in 1971 by Dr Kevin and Diana Cullen and now run by their daughter Vanya, the winery has built an outstanding reputation for fine certified biodynamic wines that receive critical national and international acclaim.
This is a pure Sauvignon Blanc selected from the certified Biodynamic vineyard and was entirely fermented in amphora. One portion of the Sauvignon Blanc was whole bunch amphora for 3 days and the other was crushed into amphorae then left on skins for 9 days. The wine was then aged for an average of 7 months in French oak of which 63% was new.
Pale amber in colour, this wine is complex with aromas of orange blossom, negroni-like bitters, orange peel and lemon verbena. The palate is long and concentrated with notes of orange, toffee and almonds, supported by a gentle salinity on the finish.
