Paolo Leo Mora Mora Malvasia Nera

In its fifth generation, Paolo Leo is based in Salento wine village of San Donaci. The story of this beautiful estate began at the turn of the twentieth century, when Antonio Leo started to vinify the grapes grown in vineyards of “Masseria Monticello”. the winery has enjoyed constant investment over the years and is today a modern winery with 120,000 hl and a barrel room housing 1000 French and American oak barriques. Mainly indigenous grape varieties are grown in 80ha of vineyards.
Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and last 8-10 days. Pumping over and delestage are carried out to maximize the extraction of colour and soft tannins from the skins. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks before ageing for 3 months in French oak barrels.
This wine has intense ruby red colour with purple tinges, pronounced aromas of red fruits, with hints of plum and spices. Full bodied and well balanced, with a lively tannins and a pleasantly lingering finish of ripe red fruits.
